The Client
PathwaysX is a modern hiring partner for startups. Their approach goes beyond resumes, combining AI-powered evaluations, real world challenges, and human insights to identify people who thrive in high growth environments.
Depending on the role, their model includes assessing leadership traits, testing technical and domain expertise, exploring culture fit, and measuring future readiness. They don’t shortlist candidates based on who applied, they focus on who’s built to succeed. All of this happens inside Pathways Connect, the platform we were brought in to design.

When PathwaysX approached us, they had a vision but no platform.They needed a system that could structure their hiring philosophy while still feeling easy and clear for everyday users.
The platform had to serve candidates, startup clients, and internal talent teams each with different needs and workflows. Our goal was to build an experience that was smart but never overwhelming, and flexible enough to grow with the business.

The platform had to serve candidates, startup clients, and internal talent teams each with different needs and workflows. Our goal was to build an experience that was smart but never overwhelming, and flexible enough to grow with the business.









Our Approach
We started with discovery mapping out how each persona moved through the hiring journey. Then we defined the product architecture: A system that would flex based on user type, hiring stage, and client needs.
We built out wireframes, UI systems, and high-fidelity prototypes, testing key flows like job creation, assessments, and interview scheduling. At the same time, we designed a strategic landing page that clearly communicates the PathwaysX approach to startups and candidates alike.

Candidate Experience
Candidates can browse roles, complete assessments, and track progress all in one place. Their “My Experience” tab lets them input work history, education, references, and work authorization. This feeds into a dynamic candidate profile showing skills, fit, feedback, and interview updates.Every part of their journey feels guided, structured, and personal.

Startup hiring managers can create roles, review candidate pipelines, and make decisions with full context. Each profile includes the candidate’s background, assessment results, culture fit indicators, and team feedback.
They can use built in tools to schedule interviews or chat directly with their Talent Partner. It’s a fast, transparent experience designed for clarity and speed.

Testing & Iteration
The platform is currently in development with MVP testing on the way. All key flows were built for easy feedback and fast iteration, so the product can evolve quickly once it’s live.
